Kathmandu. Hemraj Dhakal, vice-president of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI), said that the Genji movement has caused a huge economic loss. Speaking at a discussion program organized by Nepal Association of Economic Journalists (NAFIS) here today, Dhakal said major structures of public and private sectors have suffered a big blow to the country’s economy.

“The Genji movement has worked to discourage investors, and after the agitation, we have also talked to the government.

The government has pledged to encourage it. Now we may move ahead with the ashes, but what is the guarantee that such destruction will not happen again,” he said. ’

‘We could not sustain the growth rate of the economy’

Dhakal said that although the growth rate of the economy was good some time back, we have not been able to give continuity to it. “We also spend corporate social responsibility. The government should be able to convince us. We are fighting now, the government has to bring different policies to get us up now. Now there is a need to move forward with different new strategies to get back up. The private sector should also move ahead with dignity,” he said.
