Mustang. An apple picking fair has been organised at the Temperate Horticulture Development Centre at Marfa in Gharpajhong-2 in the district. The fair has been organized here for a week from September 18, said Centre Chief Padmanath Atreya.
He said that the center has organized the apple picking and eating fair for the promotion of agriculture and tourism. A similar fair was held here last year as well. Centre Chief Atreya said that this type of apple picking and eating festival has been organized every year in view of the tourist season of September.
“The fair has been organized targeting the devotees visiting Muktinath and Kagbenidham for religious rituals as well as domestic and foreign tourists visiting Mustang”, he said. ’
Tourists can pick and eat apples as per the rules set by the center in the apple orchard. For this, tourists can go to the garden after buying a ticket of two hundred rupees. According to Atreya, the apple should be picked with special precaution and the concerned person has to pay a fine of one thousand rupees if there is any damage to the plant.
