Kathmandu. Former President of Insurance Association and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Sagarmatha Insurance Company Chunky Chhetri has urged the government to insure the government property.
Speaking at an interaction program organized by the Association of Economic Journalists of Nepal (NAFIJ) here today, Chhetri pointed out the need of compulsory insurance of government property.
“Many unforeseen incidents happen in Nepal. As a result, there is a lot of damage to government property. The government was not insured for the damage during the earthquake,” he said. It is also necessary to insure the government’s heritage and property. ’
It will cover the entire area, he said. “The insurance companies did not think that the current agitation would cause a lot of damage. The unexpected happened. The plan is to cover 65 per cent of the damage from the current incident,” he said.
