Kathmandu. A Cabinet meeting held on September 20 has transferred Hitendra Dev Shakya, Executive Director of Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA), to the Water and Energy Commission.

On the proposal of Energy Minister Kulman Ghising, the government has decided to appoint former Deputy Executive Director of NEA Manoj Silwal in place of Shakya.

Shakya, who was removed from the NRA and inducted to the commission, has been appointed as an expert member equivalent to the secretary. However, the facilities he receives have not decreased.

Shakya will receive a monthly salary of Rs 294,920 while serving as a special class member of the commission. The monthly salary will be Rs 73,730. Similarly, the business allowance will be Rs 2,21,190.
