Rs 10 million dues collected by cutting power lines

Damauli. Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) has collected dues by cutting off electricity from Tanahun Distribution Centre. In the fiscal year 2081/82, the Centre has collected Rs 12.7 million by cutting off electricity.

During the period, the power supply of 1,052 service recipients was disconnected. Of them, 708 have been reconnected after paying their dues. Centre chief Bijaya Raj Regmi said that Rs 6,627,331 is yet to be collected as arrears during the period.

In the fiscal year 2080/81, a total of Rs 26,845,700 was collected by disconnecting the line of 1,436 service recipients, according to the Centre. According to Regmi, the power line of 1,273 service recipients was reconnected during the period while arrears of Rs 35 million 56 thousand 674 were yet to be paid.

The Centre has sold 536,514 units of electricity in the fiscal year 2081/82. In the fiscal year 2080/81, 54 million 59 thousand 212 power units were sold. It had decreased by 0.84 percent in the last fiscal year.

Regmi further informed that the Centre has collected Rs 595.88 million in the fiscal year 2081/82 by selling electricity. According to him, Rs 539.43 million was collected in the fiscal year 2080/81.

Regmi said that 701,286 units of electricity has been sold out of 14 customers at the charging station. A total of Rs 53,33,929 was sold and Rs 541.1 million was collected.

A total of 2,503 customers have been added to the centre in the past one year. With the addition, more than 53,000 service recipients have reached the district, according to Centre Chief Regmi.

According to him, 2,503 service recipients have been added including 2,256 domestic customers, 31 commercial 31, non-commercial 37, industrial 37, transport (EV) 10, drinking water 41, irrigation 26, religious and cultural 16, temporary lights 14 and street lights 35.

According to the Centre, 51,075 domestic customers, 355 commercial customers, 567 non-commercial customers, 781 industrial customers, 11 transport (EV) customers, 232 drinking water trucks, 382 irrigation services, 219 religious and cultural lights, 16 temporary lights, 208 street lights, one community lights and 13 internal customers have been registered within the working area.
