Kathmandu. A total of 12 high mast lights have been installed in Kathmandu Metropolitan City. The Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) has installed ‘high mast lights’ at 12 places under the Ujyalo Metropolitan Plan.

KMC mayor Balendra Shah shared through social networking site that the installation of 62 high mast lights has been forwarded at the cost of Rs 100 million.

According to him, 12 lights have been installed so far and the remaining lights will be installed before Dashain. Kathmandu Metropolitan City has installed two high mast lights at the country’s national bus park. According to Pankaj Malla, human resource chief of Lhotse Multipurpose Pvt Ltd, which operates the new bus park, three high mast lights have been installed so far.

Mayor Shah said that more than two thousand solar street lights installed during the previous tenure but did not have electricity have been replaced by electric ones.

Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) has reached the final stage of the purchase and installation of street lights worth around Rs 850 million. Mayor Shah said that with the completion of the installation of the lights, the metropolis will be illuminated.
