Kavrepalanchok. The primary health centre at Dulalthok of Panchkhal municipality-6 in Kavrepalanchowk has started its first health insurance service under the health insurance programme. The number of government health institutions providing health services under this insurance has reached 8 after the beginning of the health service from this point in the district.
The Centre has provided its first health insurance service from today, said Centre Chief Kopila Karki. According to him, necessary human resources and physical infrastructures are being developed immediately to manage the centre as a basic hospital. The Panchkhal Municipality, which did not resume its service citing lack of human resources, has formally started its regular service from today by making necessary arrangements.
Before this, Banepa Basic Hospital operated by Banepa Municipality and Basic Hospital operated by Mandandeupur Municipality started their service from last August after signing an agreement with Insurance Board in mid-July. Before this, Sunthan, Khopasi, Panchkhal and Dhulikhel primary health centres and Methinkot Provincial Hospital had received approval for the same.
Dhulikhel Municipality, on the other hand, has started its health centre building from August 10 from the premises of Dhulikhel Hospital. Prior to this, the Centre was delaying to provide the first point of service of health insurance citing lack of physical infrastructure and human resources. The municipality has started referral service with doctors, nurses and medicines from the premises of Dhulikhel Hospital to facilitate the people visiting Dhulikhel Hospital for availing the insurance service.
The government had implemented the rule that the government health institutions would be the first point of service for health insurance from July 1. Methinkot Hospital, Praswake, Dhulikhel, Sunthan, Khopasi and Panchkhal, which were listed as the first service points since November 17, 2019, were the only three institutions providing service to Methinkot Hospital, Praswake Sunthan and Khopasi.
