Kathmandu. Bipin Joshi, mother Padma Joshi and sister Pushpa Joshi left for the United States of America on Wednesday in a bid to mount international pressure for the release of Bipin Joshi who has been abducted by Hamas and disappeared for the past 24 months.

Earlier, they had reached Israel and met directly with the concerned authorities. However, he has gone to the US to appeal to the international community through the United Nations for further initiatives.

The mother and daughter will meet with the UN officials in New York and urge them to exert pressure for the rescue of Bipin as soon as possible.

Bipin Joshi, a resident of Kanchanpur, had gone to Kibbutz Alumim in Israel in 2023 for agricultural training. He was kidnapped during the Israel-Hamas war in September 2080 and his whereabouts are unknown. Although the government of Nepal has been making diplomatic efforts, concrete results have not come so far. The family is constantly active in appeals and initiatives and continues to make a public appeal for international support.

The Joshi family met with Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) President Dr Badri KC and urged him to take global initiative. After this, NRNA Chief Executive Officer Rajendra Kumar Raut has initiated the process of facilitating the Nepali migrant workers to stay in the United States.

The Non-Resident Nepalis Association (NRNA) International Coordination Council and National Coordination Council (NCC) would directly facilitate the NRNA’s stay in the USA. NCC America President Bikash Upreti, ICC members Bishnu Rana Magar and Mahesh Khadka are among those involved in the campaign.

Earlier, the Non-Resident Nepalis Association (NRNA), Israel had also organized a special program there expressing solidarity with the Joshi family and for Bipin’s release. Likewise, the NRNA would facilitate diplomatic initiatives and discussions in various countries of the Middle East.
