Morang. Finance Minister Rameshwor Khanal has said that there was no possibility of scrapping the provincial structure.
Talking briefly to media persons at Biratnagar Airport, Minister Khanal, who is also looking after the portfolio of the Ministry of Federal Affairs and General Administration, said that the incumbent government was run as per the constitution and had no intention of scrapping the provinces.
Responding to a question, Minister Khanal said that there was no discussion on banning the Rs 1,000 and Rs 500 notes at the present time.
He said that a study was underway regarding reducing the integrated tax ‘goods sales tax’ levied by the Indian government and that the situation of causing damage to the industry, business and industrial establishment would be corrected.
