Rs 2.84 billion petroleum products imported from Kakarbhitta in two months

Jhapa. In the first two months of the current fiscal year 2082/83, Nepal imported petroleum products worth Rs 2.84 billion from Kakarvitta border point. Petrol, diesel, LP gas, ATF and kerosene have been imported through the checkpoint.

Information Officer and customs officer at the Mechi Customs Office, Ishwor Kumar Humagain, said that the import of petroleum products has decreased by 3.60 per cent compared to the same period last year. However, revenue from petroleum products has increased by 0.50 percent or Rs 6.43 million, he said.

According to the statistics of the office, revenue of Rs 1.39 billion was collected from the import of petroleum products in the first month of August. A total of 16,352 kilolitres of petrol worth Rs 1.42 billion was imported during the period. Similarly, 9,04 kilolitres of diesel worth Rs 84.42 million was imported.

Likewise, 4,233 metric tonnes LP gas worth Rs 404.9 million, 1,488 kilolitres ATF worth Rs 132.8 million and 248 kilolitres kerosene worth Rs 22.2 million were imported.
