Vehicles worth Rs 7 billion enter Birgunj border point in 2 months

Birgunj. Vehicles and spare parts worth Rs 7.16 billion have been imported from Birgunj border point in the first two months of the current fiscal year.

According to the Birgunj Customs Office, vehicles worth Rs 1.75 billion were imported from the border point in the current fiscal year as compared to the same period last year. According to the office, imports of vehicles and spare parts amounted to Rs 5.25 billion in the same period last year.

Chief Customs Administrator Bishnu Prasad Gyawali said the import of vehicles through the customs point was encouraging in the first two months of the current fiscal year. “Revenue from import of vehicles has increased in the same period of the current fiscal year as compared to the last two months. ’

The import of vehicles in the first two months of the last fiscal was Rs 4.47 billion while the import of vehicles in the first two months of the current fiscal was Rs 6.13 billion.

In the first two months of the current fiscal year, 178 jeeps, cars and vans worth Rs 435.2 million were imported. In the same period last year, 295 jeeps, cars and vans worth Rs 516.2 million were imported.

A total of 20,620 units of unassembled motorcycles worth Rs 2.79 billion were imported in the first two months of the current fiscal year. In the same period of the last fiscal year, 14,766 unassembled motorcycles worth Rs 1.85 billion were imported. In the first two months of the current fiscal year, 318 other bus trucks worth Rs 664.3 million were imported, according to the office.
