Birgunj. A total of 179 four-wheelers are parked at the integrated check post and dry port under the Birgunj Customs Office. According to the Birgunj Customs Office, the vehicles have not passed the customs clearance.
Chief Customs Administrator of Birgunj Customs Office, Bishnu Prasad Gyawali, said 75 four-wheelers were in the process of clearing customs at integrated checkpoint and 104 four-wheelers at the dry port customs office.
“Importers have been forwarding the process of customs clearance of four-wheelers targeting the festivals”, he said. ”
According to the office, the process of customs clearance of around 20 four-wheelers at the dry port has been accelerated while the necessary process for the vehicles kept at the integrated check post has also been initiated.
Vehicles and spare parts worth Rs 7.16 billion have been imported through Birgunj border point in the first two months of the current fiscal year. Imports of vehicles and parts worth Rs 1.75 billion increased compared to the same period last year. Imports of vehicles and goods amounted to Rs 5.25 billion in the first two months of the last fiscal year.
