Kathmandu. Minister for Education, Science and Technology Mahabir Pun has submitted a demand to the Nepal School Employees Council (NSC).
It is shared that the Council met with Education Minister Pun at the Ministry at Keshar Mahal today and urged him to address the problem of school employees having been persisting for a long time and to address the issues reached with the government in the past.
Council’s central chairperson Gangaram Tiwari said that he was aware of the problems facing the school employees and assured of addressing the issues after the festival. Minister Pun also urged not to expect too much as the incumbent government has come with the main responsibility of holding the election.
Chairman of Bagmati Province Committee of the Council, Ram Sharan Phuyal, said that the suggestion was given to the Education Minister Pun as positive as the directive of Education Minister Pun to have a computer teacher in every community school was positive. Province Chair Phuyal said that the Ministry has been drawn to seriously think about how the employees can feed their families with such amount.
Although the Supreme Court’s order dated February 7, 2067 had mentioned the service law specifying the service, conditions and facilities of the employees, the school accountant is currently getting Rs 15,000 monthly and the office assistant Rs 10,000 per month. Although the School Education Bill, which is under consideration in the Federal Parliament, has made efforts to address the problems of school employees, it is not in a position to become law now due to the dissolution of the House of Representatives.
