Kathmandu. The Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) has decided to clear the dues of dedicated and trunk lines.
The decision was taken at a meeting held today. The incumbent Energy Minister Kulman Ghising wanted to clear the dues when he was the chief of NEA. It was stopped for various reasons. Now his plan seems to be successful.
The NEA has decided to collect the arrears from the industrialists by giving them time. The arrears of dedicated and trunk line are around Rs 8.25 billion.
It has been decided to issue a notice giving 3 weeks time to the industrialists to clear their dues. After the publication of the notice, time will be given to pay the dues.
On the other hand, Ghising had taken the first decision on September 15 after assuming the post of minister and directed the NEA to collect the arrears. That decision is now going to be implemented.
