Kathmandu. The Morang Chamber of Commerce and Industry has expressed regret over the decision taken by the Ministry of Home Affairs regarding the incident that took place on September 7 and 24 in the name of Jenji movement.
“Our serious attention has been drawn to the statement issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs on September 24 stating that a commission has been formed to investigate into the human and physical losses caused during the agitation and regular legal process will not be initiated until the report of the commission is received,” the statement said.
“The looting, arson and destruction of private sector industries, businesses and private residences in a planned manner during the agitation have created fear and fear,” the statement said.
“The morale of the private sector is very weak. “It is very regrettable that the Ministry has stated that regular legal process would not be initiated to bring anyone involved in such anarchy, looting and destruction under the ambit of the prevailing law and end the situation of impunity,” reads the statement.
“Impunity in the rule of law is unacceptable,” it said. “We strongly demand that anyone involved in illegal activities be brought under the ambit of the prevailing law to guarantee the rule of law, protect wealth, invest safely and create a trustworthy environment to work in a fearless environment,” the statement reads.
