Kathmandu. Kumari Aryatara is all set to give tika to the general public on the occasion of Dashami.

Coordinator of the Hanuman Dhoka-based Kumari Ghar Management Committee, Gautam Shakya, said that the Dashain Tika is scheduled after 11:00 am after offering prayers to the living goddess Kumari on the night of Mahanawami.

There is a tradition of visiting Taleju Bhawani at midnight on the occasion of Mahanawami with the belief that the living goddess Kumari will get special powers. Kumari is revered as a symbol of Bhavani.

On the night of Navami, it is customary to sacrifice 54 goats and 54 buffaloes during the worship near Mul Chowk. Cattle were sacrificed last night as well. In this way, religious activities are being carried out with the determination to gain strength to run the state while worshiping Taleju.
