Mustang. As many as 18 cargo trolleys of Sino Hydropower Company, which had already passed the inspection at the Mustang Customs Office due to lack of road diversion in Ghami Khola of Loghekar Damodar Kunda-2, are stranded at the Customs Office.
A 10-wheeler trolley loaded with construction materials and equipment imported from China has been stranded at the Nghechung Customs Office since Tuesday due to lack of diversion of the road along the Jomsom-Korala road.
Chief District Officer Bishnu Prasad Bhusal said that the containers of medium scale goods returned from Korala checkpoint were stopped at the Customs Office as the temporary bridge could not bear the load. He said that the problem would be resolved by constructing a diversion together with the entrepreneurs and the project after Dashain.
According to Lopsang Chhomphel Bista, chairperson of Loghekar Damodar Kunda Rural Municipality, there has been problem due to lack of diversion of road in Ghami rivulet along the Korala road. He said that efforts are being made to construct the diversion in coordination with the traders.
The under-construction bridge over Ghami River is yet to be completed even after seven years. The contract for the bridge construction was signed with Himdhung Thokkar and Emotel JV Construction at the cost of Rs 68.0 million in 2075 BS. Although the project has been incurring compensation to the construction company on a daily basis, the work has not moved ahead yet. According to the project, 75 per cent physical progress has been made so far in the construction of the 40-meter long one-span bridge.
