Ilam. As many as 34 people have lost their lives in landslides triggered by incessant rainfall in different rural municipalities of the district. As per the information received till 1 pm today, four people have gone missing.
According to Ilam Chief District Officer Sunita Nepal, post-mortem of 11 people has been completed. Details of the loss are yet to be ascertained, the District Administration Office said.
According to Chief District Officer Nepal, five people in Manebhanjyang of Suryodaya municipality-1, six in Ghose of Ilam municipality-6, four in Sandakpur rural municipality, three in Mangsebung rural municipality, eight in Deumai municipality, seven in Maijogmai rural municipality and one in Phakphokthum rural municipality died in landslides.
Two persons have gone missing in Sandakpur Rural Municipality and one each in Ilam Municipality and Maijogma÷i Rural Municipality.
