Gorkha. Northern Gorkha, which used to receive snowfall only after the onset of January this year, has received snowfall in September this year. Snowfall occurred at Samdo of Chumnubri Rural Municipality-1 in the Himalayan region on Monday.
Nima Gyaljen Lama, a local of Samdo, said that normal life has been affected due to snowfall in September. “The snow is heavier than the snow in winter. This kind of snowfall will affect potato and other crops,” he said. ’
According to Lama, the snow is gradually melting as the sun has started getting a little sunny since this afternoon. Now, as soon as the weather clears, farmers are ready to bring their crops.
Samdo is located at an altitude of 3,890 meters above sea level. Only potatoes and buckwheat are grown here. Tourism is the main occupation of the people of Samdo. Tourists are excited after the snowfall.
Locals said the number of tourists has increased in the village with the beginning of the Manaslu climbing season.
