Monthly. The flooded Roshi River following incessant rainfall on October 1 and 18 has washed away most of the roads along the BP Highway. Small and big vehicles coming from different parts of Tarai and eastern districts have started using alternative routes. An alternative road to Dolaghat via Khurkot-Manthali-Charikot-Mude-Khadichaur is being used.
In order to regulate the vehicular movement, the traffic police have been directing the vehicles coming from Devkota Chowk in Manthali to Kathmandu from the Police Office while the vehicles coming from there leave the bus park via Kataharbot Chowk to Devkota Chowk.
According to Kaushal Neupane, information officer at the District Police Office, the road is used as an alternative route for vehicles heading to and from other parts of the Tarai region to most districts of Koshi Province and Kathmandu via the BP Highway. He said that they are continuously working for the convenience of the passengers returning to their respective work areas after celebrating Dashain.
