Kathmandu. The Genji martyr’s family has demanded three ministries from the government. Organizing a press conference at Sambad Dabali today, the Martyrs Family Struggle Committee said that their presence in the cabinet was necessary as a precautionary measure as the government formed with the blood of martyrs has ignored them.
Ganesh Chaulagain, father of martyr Shriyam Chaulagain, expressed his anger over the fact that none from Prime Minister Sushila Karki and other Genje groups were paying heed to them. Chaulagain complained that the victims’ and martyrs’ families have been suffering as the government has not addressed their demands despite submitting memorandum to various ministries time and again.
Kamal Subedi, a member of the martyr’s family, expressed his ire that the Prime Minister and the ministers did not even meet the incumbent government to give first priority to the families of the martyrs. Subedi complained that the government formed with the blood of their family members and the Genji people did not even show sympathy, adding, “We have lost our family members, the present government has been formed on the basis of this. ”
The committee has recommended Dipak Chaudhary, grandfather of martyr Bijay Chaudhary, for the Ministry of Labor and Employment, Bhoj Bikram Thapa, for the Ministry of Water Supply and Kamal Subedi, the maternal uncle of martyr Yogendra Neupane, for the Ministry of Youth and Sports. The committee has warned that if the government does not address this demand within 7 days, they will launch a strong protest.
