Kathmandu. The government has decided to provide tax exemption and concessions to those affected by the Zenji agitation on September 7 and 24.
In a notice issued by the Inland Revenue Department, the Inland Revenue Department said that the tax exemption and other concessions have been arranged in view of the impact on production and trade due to the agitation.
According to the decision published in the Nepal Gazette on September 26, 2082, the Government of Nepal has made this provision in exercise of its powers as per the sub-section (9) of Section 18 of the Finance Act, 2082.
For the current fiscal year 2082/83, the government has announced to reduce the expenditure on the products and services approved by the government and provide tax exemption.
Similarly, tax exemption will be given as relief for the loss or loss in the stocks of industries, trades and business establishments that have been severely affected by the Genji agitation.
For this, the affected businesses will have to report their losses to the concerned Inland Revenue Office.
According to the Department of Revenue, such a provision is expected to provide some financial relief to businesses affected by the agitation and other unusual circumstances.
