Mustang. The Customs Office of Nhechung at North Korlana has come into operation from today after the Dashain festival. The office was closed after the employees went home to celebrate Dashain on September 27.
Ramesh Khadka, chief of the customs office, said that the inspection and clearance of the goods has not been started due to the absence of the authorized representatives of the exporters and importers.
KATHMANDU: Goods imported from China and electric cars have been stopped at Nhechung Customs Point for clearance during the Dashain holiday. Khadka said that information has been received that goods have been imported from the border point and electronic cars have been deposited.
Rs 2.02 billion in revenue was collected from Korala border point in the first six months ago. Out of 1,109 electric cars entered Nepal from Korala border point in the period, 965 electric cars have cleared customs and reached their destinations.
Similarly, 375 goods carrying Chinese goods have cleared customs clearance. Earlier, the Mustang Customs Office here was open only for the citizens of Upper Mustang and only a small amount of revenue was collected. The Department of Customs has brought the Korala checkpoint into use after Rasuwagadhi and Tatopani checkpoints were blocked due to floods and landslides in August and August.
