Bhojpur. Around 90 percent of the population of Sanodumma rural municipality-5 has access to central electricity service. In this ward, which is considered geographically remote, the lights have been lit in every house at the initiative of the local level.

According to ward chair Bom Prasad Rai, the campaign that began from zero state of electricity expansion has now reached the final stage. “Only 11 houses in the two settlements are yet to be elected. Preparations are underway to install those houses soon,” he said.

Ward Chair Rai said that the power expansion has been delayed in some remote settlements due to the lack of poles and wires. The remaining households will also be electrified and the ward will be declared a ‘full illumination ward’.

With the expansion of electricity, the locals who have been dependent on Tuki and solar for many years have felt comfortable. “The darkness has now lifted,” said Harka Raj Rai, a local, adding, “We have been able to use television and internet in the village.” According to him, with the expansion of access to information and communication, the villagers will be able to easily know news and information about the country and abroad.
