Kathmandu. The Supreme Court has filed a case against former Speaker of the House of Representatives and CPN (Maoist Centre) vice-chair Krishna Bahadur Mahara on the charge of obtaining criminal benefits from gold smugglers.

Chief of the District Government Attorney’s Office, Ramhari Kafle, informed that the case was filed against him in the Kathmandu District Court on the charge of evading customs duty and organized crime.

A CIB team had arrested him from Kathmandu yesterday.
