Kathmandu. A large amount of money has been found to be sent abroad through students going abroad for higher studies.
According to the financial details of the second month of the current fiscal year released by Nepal Rastra Bank, the number of students going abroad has been Rs 32.76 billion in August. Such amount had been Rs. 28.20 billion in the same period of the previous year.
In the review period, the travel expenses under the service account increased by 9.6 percent to Rs 47.31 billion. In the same period of the previous year, the expenditure was Rs 43.18 billion.
Similarly, net service income stood at a loss of Rs 31.16 billion. In the same period of the previous year, the net service income had decreased by Rs. 27.93 billion.
In the review period, the income from tourism sector increased by 9.8 per cent to Rs 11.58 billion. Such income had been Rs. 10.55 billion in the same period of the previous year.
