Kathmandu. The Nepal Insurance Authority (NEA) held discussion with the representatives of insurance companies at the central office of NEA in Kupandole, Lalitpur today.
Opinions of the insurers were sought regarding the timely revision of the Agriculture, Livestock and Herbs Insurance Directive-2079 BS and the draft of the Damage Evaluator Directive that the Authority is going to provide for the first time.
Extensive discussion was held on the amendment draft of the Agriculture, Livestock and Herbs Insurance Directive-2079 and the draft of the Damage Assessor Directive presented by the NRA.
Suggestions were taken from the representatives of the insurers regarding the provision of recommendation for the subsidy to be provided by the government, the current status of operation of the Agriculture Insurance Real Time Software (ALIS), the problems faced and the steps to be taken to solve them.
On the occasion, Executive Director of the Insurance Authority, Sushil Dev Subedi, said that the authority was going to revise the Agriculture, Livestock and Herbs Insurance Directive-2079 as per the timelines.
Managing Director Subedi informed that the NRA is bringing a directive on damage assessor for the first time and urged them to give concrete suggestions for the same.
He also informed that the draft of the guidelines will be finalized by incorporating the suggestions received from the insurers.
