Damauli. The 140-MW Tanahun Hydropower Project has completed five projects under the community development programme in Jhaputar of Rishing Rural Municipality-1 of Tanahun district.
Repair of suspension bridge linking Rishing rural municipality-1 and Liwangkhola of Myagde rural municipality-1, construction of Thati at Rishing-1 and construction of Dule Lokma trekking route, protection of Setichhabdi ghat at Byas municipality-1, construction of Lower Setang Vulkon road at Rishing-1 and up-gradation of Kotdurbar Machdang road at Rishing-7 have been completed. According to him, community development and livelihood rehabilitation programme has been implemented through the users’ committee in the project-affected areas.
Bhandari said that the environmental and social management service provider bodies have been regularly monitoring the projects run through the users’ committee. According to him, 79 projects related to community development have been completed so far while 13 are in operation.
The repair of entrance gate of Parashar Secondary School at Byas-5, drainage of Kilchowk branch road at Myagde-3, drainage of Rishing-1 Milan road, Dandiban Chulesi access road at Rishing-7, improvement of Setimadi ghat at Byas-5 and construction of concrete bridge over Wantang River at Bhimad-5 are going on.
According to him, construction of a road leading to the village from the place connected to the access road in Byas-5, conservation of the right bank of Seti river and strengthening of drinking water source are underway. Stating that the Drinking Water Source and Pipe Improvement Assistance Programme, the installation of pipes and the construction of the Lower Setang Vulcan road are going on in Rishing-1, he said, adding that works related to electrification of Michhurlung Drinking Water Supply Project of Bhimad-5 are underway.
According to Bhandari, the social work has been prioritized as the community plays an important role in the construction of the project. “We are working to complete the project by collaborating with the community,” he said. ’
