Kathmandu. The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has filed a corruption case against Saroj Kumar Singh, former state minister at the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Law of Madhes, demanding a recovery of Rs 3.85 million.
The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has filed corruption case against 16 people, including MP Singh of Madhes Province. The commission has claimed a demand of Rs 1,36,27,481 against 16 people.
According to the CIAA, Singh had formed various consumer committees and asked him to withdraw the amount deposited in the committee’s account through his personal secretary Binod Kumar Lal Kayastha.
Chairman of Dharamshala Construction Users’ Committee Yamuna Prasad Mahato and Treasurer Kaushilya Devi, Chairman of Dharamshala Construction Users’ Committee Yoginder Mahato and Treasurer Sunaina Kumari, Chairman of Dharamshala and Compound Wall Construction Users’ Committee Ram Nath Sahni and Treasurer of Maltamaisthan Construction Users’ Committee Ram Sharan Khatwe and Treasurer Bibha Devi Khatwe. The case has been filed against Ramesh Mader, chairperson of Kanchaniyamai Temple Beautification Construction Users’ Committee, and Amlesh Kumari, treasurer.
Similarly, Chairman of Devi Maharani Beautification Construction Users’ Committee Deeparaj Devi Rajput and Treasurer Bhikhari Raut Kurmi, Bhupendra Kumar Jha, Chairman of Mato Gravel Construction Users’ Committee from Radhwa Pipal to Sahasaula Anerbhat to Janata Primary School to Laxminiya were also present. v. The case has been filed against Manju Devi Pasman, treasurer of the Electricity Construction Users’ Committee for the construction of the road up to Laxminiya and the road upgradation from Radhwa Pipal to Anherbhat area.
