Genzi agitation: Insurance company claims Rs 23.19 billion, pays Rs 1.95 billion

Kathmandu. The insurance company has received a claim of Rs 23.19 billion for physical and other damages during the GenG agitation on September 7 and 24.

According to the Insurance Authority, a total of 3,163 insurance claims were filed by 14 non-life insurance companies and four micro non-life insurance companies.

According to NEA, the insurance company has paid Rs 1.95 billion in advance till September 11. Out of the total insurance claims, 673 claims were made towards property insurance and the claim amount was around Rs 19.71 billion. So far, the insurers have paid about Rs 1.55 billion in advance claims on property insurance.

Similarly, there were 2,256 claims under motor insurance and the claim amount was around Rs 3.44 billion. So far, insurance companies have paid Rs 36.25 crore in motor insurance.

Similarly, 182 claims have been made towards engineering and contract risk insurance and the claim amount is around Rs 331.8 million. The insurers have so far paid about Rs 3.81 crore in advance payment of engineering and contract risk insurance.

According to NEA, there are 12 vehicles towards transport insurance and Rs 16.3 million claim amount. In other insurance, the claim amount of 40 insurance companies is about Rs 38.86 crore. According to the NRA, claims worth Rs 22 lakh have been paid so far.
