Kathmandu. Police have arrested a man for looting weapons of security forces during the Genji protests. The arrested is Raju Pariyar aka Samrat of Sunakothi of Lalitpur Metropolitan City-26, according to Superintendent of Police (SP) Pawan Kumar Bhattarai.

Pariyar was arrested on the charge of his involvement in the activities of vandalism and arson during the demonstration that took place on September 24 and vandalized public property at different places including Singha Durbar in front of the main gate of the country. ’

Spokesperson Bhattarai said that the Kathmandu District Court today extended the custody of Pariyar for investigation into the case as per Clause 285 of the Criminal Code, 2074.

According to the police, he has been involved in criminal activities like banking fraud and fraud on different dates in the past.
