Gandaki. The Kaski Police had launched ‘Operation 365’ last Monday against those riding motorbikes with loud sound and modified their appearance and so far 104 such motorcycles have been taken into action.

The operation was jointly launched by the District Police Office and District Traffic Police Office, Kaski.

According to police, 16 motorcyclists have been handed over to their families. Information Officer at the District Traffic Police Office, Raj Kumar KC, said that the motorbikes and their drivers have been taken under the control for their mischief, causing noise pollution, creating fear in society and changing their appearance.

Police have launched ‘Operation 365’ after receiving complaints from the public that the motorcycles were being disguised by changing their parts, making loud and explosive sounds from silencers, causing noise pollution at night and disturbing peace and order in the society. The police said that the campaign will continue unabated.

Police have urged the people to report to the nearest police office if they see any motorbikes that are noisy, causing noise pollution and disguising the motorcycles. The confidentiality of the person giving the information will be maintained. Last year, the Kaski Police had taken such motorcycles under control as part of a campaign and brought them under the purview of action.

As per the Vehicle and Transport Management Act, 2049 BS, a fine of up to Rs 15,000 will be levied if the vehicle is replaced with silencer, seat color, form, number plate, looking glass, shock, handle, engine and chassis or parts that cause noise pollution without taking approval
