Bhojpur. A rural road linking Khawa Bhanjyang via Khongtang-Hunge-Cholanti of Temkemaiyung rural municipality has been upgraded.
The road which was difficult for vehicles to ply in the past has now been graveled and constructed with the construction of drains and wall has made it easier for the general public to commute. With the improvement of this road which is muddy in the rainy season and dusty in winter, it has become easier for the villagers to access their daily life, economic activities and services.
With the improvement of roads, it has become easier for farmers to take their produce to the market, students to go to school and sick to health facilities. The nine kilometers road from Khongtang to Khawa Bhanjyang has been upgraded at a cost of Rs 35 million. The rural municipality chair Saroj Basnet said the upgradation was carried out in the federal government’s budget at the initiative of the rural municipality.
This road is the main road connecting the residents of western rural municipality to Bhojpur district headquarters. Ramesh Bista, a local, said that the up-gradation of the road has changed the daily life of the locals. “Earlier, it was difficult for the sick, disabled and senior citizens to walk”, he said, adding, “Now it has been a big relief as vehicles are easy to ply”. ’
