Kathmandu. Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation, Physical Infrastructure and Transport, and Urban Development Kulman Ghising visited the control room of Syuchatar-based dispatch centre of Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) on Monday evening to take stock of the demand and supply management of electricity on the occasion of Laxmi Puja.
Secretary at the Ministry of Energy and Water Resources Chiranjivi Chataut, Chairman of Electricity Regulatory Commission Ram Prasad Dhital, Joint Secretaries at the Ministry, Director General of Department of Electricity Development, NEA Managing Director and Deputy Executive Director were present on the occasion.
As in the previous years, NEA has been successful in supplying uninterrupted electricity throughout the country on the occasion of Laxmi Puja this year. The NEA has kept the chiefs of distribution centers, power houses across the country and the technicians on standby to avoid disruption of power supply during the day of Laxmi Puja.
A team led by Ghising, who was appointed as the executive director in August 2073, had started ending load-shedding from Kathmandu Valley on a trial basis from the day of Laxmi Puja the same year by managing the demand and supply of electricity.
