Kathmandu. Imports of dry fruits amounted to Rs 2.75 billion in the first two months of the current fiscal year.
According to the Department of Customs, dry fruits worth Rs 1.84 billion were imported in the first two months of the current fiscal year. According to the Department, the highest amount of betel nut was imported till mid-September of the current fiscal year. Similarly, the import of raisins amounting to Rs 37,64,51,000 till mid-August has been done. Imports of coconut worth Rs 26.97 crore and walnut worth Rs 24.64 crore were imported during the period.
According to the department, peanuts worth Rs 23.79 crore, cottonseed worth Rs 2.43 lakh, pistachio worth Rs 46.63 million, fig worth Rs 2.88 lakh, chickpeas worth Rs 61.74 lakh and dry fruits worth Rs 13.37 lakh were imported during the period.
According to the department, the highest amount of dry fruits was imported to Indonesia during this period. During this period, the country imported Rs 46.29 crore. Similarly, imports from India amounted to Rs 383.33 crore, China worth Rs 25.81 crore and the US worth Rs 23.64 crore.
Imports of dry fruits amounted to Rs 17,000 in Bahrain, Rs 1,000 in Cameroon, Rs 278,19,000 in Chile, Rs 8,000 in Hong Kong, Rs 1,000 in Japan, Rs 2,000 in Jordan, Rs 249,000 in Kenya and Rs 220,000 in Kuwait.
Imports of Malaysia amounted to Rs 7.97 million, Nigeria Rs 2,000, Oman Rs 20,000, Peru Rs 844,000, Venezuela Rs 3.922 million and Rs 62.24 million. Similarly, imports from Qatar amounted to Rs 453,000, Saudi Arabia Rs 337,000, UAE Rs 587,000, UK Rs 12,000 and Tanzania worth Rs 1,000.
