Kailali. Kailali Customs Office, Dhangadhi has collected Rs 1.79 billion in revenue in the first three months of the current fiscal year. The office collected this amount of revenue from mid-July to mid-September of the current fiscal year 2082/83.
Information Officer at the office, Khim Prasad Aryal, said that the office collected Rs 696.77 million as customs duty, Rs 68.98 crore as VAT and Rs 53.58 million as excise duty. The revenue collection target has not been achieved in any month of the current fiscal year.
Information Officer Aryal said that the government collected only Rs 57.80 crore against the target of Rs 71.61 crore in July, Rs 53.70 crore against the target of Rs 74.21 crore in August and Rs 67.78 crore in September against the target of Rs 76.77 crore. The government has set a target to collect Rs 9.71 billion revenue in the current fiscal year, he added.
The revenue collected in the first three months is 18.46 per cent of the target. Even in the fiscal year 2081/82, the revenue collection was not as per the target. Information Officer Aryal said that the government had collected only Rs 8.66 billion revenue against the target of Rs 11.16 billion in the last fiscal year. This is only 77.67 percent of the annual target.
