Bagmati. In the first three months of the current fiscal year 2082/83, the Bagmati Province government has spent only 6.19 percent of the total budget.
According to Suraj Poudel, information officer at the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Planning, 6.19 per cent of the total budget or Rs 4.17 billion has been spent in the first three months of the current fiscal year 2082/83.
He said that the province government had presented a budget of Rs 67.47 billion for the current fiscal year and Rs 4.17 billion was spent in the first three months of the current fiscal year. According to him, the capital budget has been spent less than the current budget.
Of the allocated budget, the Public Service Commission (19.55 per cent), the Provincial Assembly Secretariat (17.19 per cent) and the Office of the Chief Attorney (15.31 per cent) have been spent while the Ministry of Culture and Tourism has spent the least amount of the budget at 0.80 per cent.
Information Officer Poudel said that due to the damage to the structures of the state government due to the Genji exhibition held on September 7 and 24, the province government bodies have not been able to work properly and the budget has not been implemented.
