Kanchanpur. Bipin Joshi of Kanchanpur, who was killed in the Hamas captivity, was cremated with national honours on Tuesday.

Chief District Officer (CDO) Laxman Dhakal draped the national flag over Bipin’s body on the bank of the Mahakali River. A contingent of Armed Police Force (APF) paid last respects by offering a salute to the martyrs.

Ambassador of Israel to Nepal Samulik Ari Bass was present at the funeral. A representative of the Israeli Embassy draped the Israeli flag over Bipin’s body.

Bipin’s body, which arrived in Kathmandu from Tel Aviv on Monday via Fly Dubai, was taken to Dhangadhi in the evening by a Nepal Army Sky truck. From there, the hearse of Dhangadhi Sub-Metropolitan was taken to Bipin’s house in Bhimdatta Municipality-3.

The funeral procession was taken out from his home to the Samadhi Sthal Mahakali Bhujelaghat on Tuesday morning. Former Minister for Foreign Affairs NP Saud, former lawmaker Tara Lama Tamang, Israeli Ambassador Bas and his wife were also present in the funeral procession.
