Rupandehi. A team deputed from the District Police Office, Rupandehi on Monday confiscated goods worth around Rs 18 lakh. Police confiscated goods worth Rs 1.8 million 42,000 illegally imported from India to Nepal in course of checking at different places in the district.
The seized goods have been sent to Bhairahawa Customs Office, Belahiya and Revenue Investigation Office, Butwal for necessary action, said Suraj Karki, Deputy Superintendant of Police (DSP) at the District Police Office.
The arrestees have been identified as Aluddin Churihar (53) of Siddharthanagar Municipality-4, Mihaj Ahmad (55) of Siddharthanagar-6, Soheb Alam (48), Pawan Ali (56) and Shahid Malik (38) of Delhi, India.
