Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Sushila Karki has said the government was committed to holding the elections on March 4 in a fear-free environment.
Speaking at a reception organized by Nepal Sambat Nhuda Conservation Society on the occasion of Nepal Sambat New Year 1146 at Basantapur today, President Bhandari expressed her commitment to hold the election with the participation of all Nepali people as per the responsibility bestowed on them by the civil government formed on the basis of the movement.
“We are holding talks with the political parties in some form or the other every day. We are also in constant dialogue and contact with the representatives of the ‘Genji Generation’, the agents of change. Just because the election is a priority does not mean that we remain silent on the issues of corruption and good governance. ’
Stating that it was the main responsibility of the incumbent government to address the voice of good governance in the Jenji movement under the Constitution of Nepal, she said the state mechanisms were working to give results to this as well.
He said that the government which is committed to good governance and elections along with ending corruption needs support from the civil society. PM Karki also called on one and all to fulfill the national responsibility of keeping democracy alive and controlling corruption by maintaining mutual harmony and unity in the society.
“I am confident that all political parties, civil society and the general public would support the present government which is moving ahead with the main responsibility of giving a political outlet to the country by holding the House of Representatives election by ending corruption,” she said. ’
