Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: A New Year’s Nhu Daya Bhintuna (best wishes) rally was organized in Basantapur Kathmandu today with traditional musical instruments including Dhime and Newari attire.

Nepal Sambat 1146 Bhintuna rally was taken out. Nhudanya Bhintun. Happy New Year. And, this is the best wish, a program has been organized in Kathmandu on the occasion of Nepal Sambat 1146. The new year of Nepal Sambat begins from Kartik Shukla Paksha. Nepal Sambat is based on the lunar month.

There is no uniform opinion about which era was in vogue during the Licchavi period. After the Licchavi period, the new era seems to have come into practice in us.

Nepal Sambat begins the day after Lakshmi Puja. From the cultural point of view, there is a special cultural tradition of performing ‘Mhaspuja’ on the day of the beginning of the Nepal Sambat. Mha-puja is a term in Nepal Bhasa and it means body worship. Mha means body.

The tradition of worshiping one’s own body on the first day of the New Year is unique and original in itself. It is celebrated with great enthusiasm and emotion, especially in Kathmandu Valley, Bhaktapur, Lalitpur.
