Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: President of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI), Chandra Prasad Dhakal, has said that he sees possibilities and opportunities everywhere in Nepal.

Speaking at the Himalayan Conclave held in Texas of the United States of America on Saturday, he said, “I have only heard people saying that there is no possibility in Nepal, there is nothing with Nepal’s capital, there is no business environment here. ”

Dhakal said that there are still many areas to be explored in Nepal. The more you explore, the more opportunities you get. We need to work to make those opportunities possible. Therefore, it is wrong to say that there is no possibility in Nepal without trying. ”

He urged the investors in the US to invest in Nepal for foreign investment, saying it was said that there was no environment conducive for investment in Nepal.

“At least 30 laws have been amended for investment-friendly environment at the initiative and initiative of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI). The government has started implementing the recommendations of the High Level Commission on Improvement of the Economy, formed with the involvement of the private sector. Lately, domestic and foreign investors have been exploring investment opportunities in Nepal. Therefore, we should all work to create an environment conducive for investment. ”

To prove that there is a possibility of investment in Nepal and to give a message that big investments can be made by mobilizing domestic capital, Nepal Development Public Limited (NDP) worth Rs 10 billion has been established recently with the participation of domestic businessmen and non-resident Nepalis.

Stating that the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) has established the help desk to further promote foreign investment and facilitate problems that might be required for investment, Dhakal urged the foreign investors to invest in Nepal.

Responding to a query regarding the recent attacks on public enterprises and private property of the private sector at a time when Nepal was saying that there was an investment climate in Nepal, he said, “The attack on the sector like the private sector, which contributes 81 percent to the country’s economy and provides 86 percent employment, does not send a good message and is a very wrong act.” ”

Chairman Dhakal said that the wrong mindset has been created in the social media and among the general public that businessmen are only profit-making by forgetting the fact that the private sector is the main engine of the country’s economic development.

He said. “The perception and perception towards the private sector, which has been contributing so much to the country’s economy and to direct employment, is very wrong. Whether it is the political parties, the government, the bureaucracy and the general public, there is an urgent need to change this perception. If this does not happen, then such accidents may not be stopped in the future. ”
