Bhadrapur. The export of cardamom from the Mechi Customs Office has increased by 33 percent in the first quarter of the current fiscal year. According to the office, cardamom worth Rs 1.67 billion was exported during the period.
Information Officer at the Mechi Customs Office, Ishwar Kumar Humagain, said that 1,072 metric tonnes of cardamom was exported in the first three months. He said that cardamom worth Rs 1.07 billion was exported in the same period of the previous fiscal year 2081/82.
According to the statistics of the office, the export of tea has decreased by 40.90 percent in the first three months of the current fiscal year. Tea worth Rs 1.01 billion was exported during the period. Information Officer Humagain said that tea worth Rs 1.71 billion was exported in the same period of the last fiscal year 2081/82.
According to the office’s data, the export of veneer sheet by 126 percent, chhurpi by 61.80 percent, plywood by 100 percent, cauliflower, broccoli and cabbage by 71.40 percent, other metal residues by 100 percent and lentils by 481 percent.
Similarly, the export of ginger has decreased by 32.30 percent and Amrisho by 24 percent. In the first three months of the current fiscal year 2082/83, goods worth Rs 4.80 billion have been exported.
