Kathmandu. Khagendra Sunar, who was the prime minister of the government formed by the Jenji movement, was trying to make him a minister.

Sunar, who is going to get the responsibility of the Ministry of Labour, Employment and Social Security in the cabinet that is scheduled to be expanded today, has been found to be an absconding accused in a criminal case. The Surkhet District Court had issued a seven-day arrest warrant against Sunar of Narayan Municipality-2, Bhaisekhor on July 7, 2081.

The District Attorney’s Office had filed a case against Sunar accusing him of vandalizing health facilities and manhandling health workers. The court had issued an arrest warrant to arrest Sunar.

In the arrest warrant issued by the court, the complaint was filed by Dr. Sojan Sapkota, the office chief of Mehelkuna Hospital, Gurvakot Municipality Ward No. 8, Surkhet. The case of vandalism of health institutions and manhandling of health workers is dated 2081. 03. This 7 (seven) day arrest warrant has been issued to arrest the following accused-defendants who were absent as they were filed in this court on the 14th. Produce the accused÷ defendant before this Court within the period mentioned in the arrest warrant. If he is not arrested within that period, he may be arrested and produced before this court for a 35-day arrest warrant.”

Similarly, the Kavrepalanchowk District Court had issued an arrest warrant against Sunar on a case related to electronic transaction. He has not been arrested in the case yet.

Similarly, a complaint of polygamy has also been filed against him. On September 22, 2022, Sunar’s first wife had filed a complaint against Gita Khatri, 27, demanding legal action against her for polygamy.

He is considered close to the Nepali Congress. He was elected Mahasamiti member of Nepali Congress from Dailekh in 2078-79 BS.
