Kathmandu. Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) has issued a letter to Hyatt Regency Hotel, which was closed indefinitely due to vandalism during the Genji agitation on September 7 and 24. The hotel management has issued a notice informing that it has been closed indefinitely.
Although the hotel had issued a notice informing about the closure for an indefinite period, NEPSE has not been officially informed about it. The letter is said to have been written for information.
Hyatt Regency (Taragaon Regency Hotels Ltd) is listed on NEPSE. The companies listed in NEPSE have to furnish 25 different information. It also has to be informed within 25 notices that the business has been closed.
Spokesperson of NEPSE, Murhari Parajuli, said that although the hotel has issued a public notice, it has not been officially informed about it. Chandragiri Hills were also damaged during the Zenji agitation. Hills said the service will be suspended until further notice is issued on Sept. 25. Services have not yet resumed in the Hills.
Hills wrote a letter to NEPSE on September 10, 2002 stating that most of the physical structures of the cable car’s main operating unit, the gondola parking and store unit of the cable car, the accounts and administrative area of the company, the restaurant and coffee shop, the cable car ticket counter and most of the physical structures at the bottom station of the company were vandalized and set on fire at around 4:25 pm on Tuesday, September 10, 2002. The daily service of the company has been disrupted due to the fire. Also, the company is requested to inform that all business activities and regular operations of the company will be closed until further notice.
However, the two companies that have closed their business are trading in the secondary market. Today, the share price of Taragaon has fallen by Rs 57 to Rs 739 per share. A total of 27,892 units of shares were traded at Rs 2,01,22,049 on Sunday.
Similarly, the share price of Hills has increased by Rs 3 to Rs 830 per share. A total of 17,093 units of shares of the company were traded at Rs 1,38,54,765 today.
Now that the two companies have issued notices of closure of services, there is a discussion about why the share trading of these companies should not be suspended. However, instead of suspending the transaction of the companies that have closed the service, the seller will be able to sell the shares depending on the condition of the company, and there will be an opportunity for those who want to buy cheaply.
Similarly, the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) is preparing to send a letter to three cement companies that have cut off power lines for not paying the dues of dedicated feeder and trunk line. The authority has issued a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to Sonapur Mineral and Oil Pvt. Ltd. Similarly, the power supply of Ghorahi Cement Industry and Shivam Cement has been disconnected. The NEA disconnected the power supply of all three industries on Friday evening. It is said that NEPSE is preparing to disconnect the power supply saying that there will be no production after the power cut in the industry.
