Banke. The postal road section linking Narayanpur of Rapti Sonari rural municipality-3 to Rajpur rural municipality of Dang is in a state of limbo.

Although the Directorate had prepared the Detailed Project Report (DPR) for the construction of the Narayanpur-Rajpur road some years ago, the construction work has not yet started. According to the DPR, the construction of this section is estimated to cost around Rs 6 billion. Project Office Nepalgunj Chief of Postal Roads Directorate, Leela Bahadur Bhandari said the construction of the highway would remain incomplete if the road was not constructed along the route.

According to Bhandari, the file has already been submitted to the bodies concerned for securing resources for the construction of this section and resources would be ensured soon and the contract management works would be forwarded after that. According to him, it will take around four years to complete the construction of around 35 kilometers of the road and 15 bridges have to be constructed along the road.

Of the total 35 kilometres of the road, 18 kilometres (18 kilometres) is forest area. Bhandari said that the public vehicles have been using the Postal Road in the area from Nepalgunj to Agaiya, which has been constructed due to the short distance and ease of construction.

The 35-km stretch from Narayanpur of Banke to Rajpur of Dang has reached the final stage of getting the source assurance. Min Kumar Tharu, ward chairman of Rapti Sonari Rural Municipality-3, said that the construction of the Narayanpur-Rajpur road section would contribute to the development of Sonari area in Banke.
