Janakpurdham. The Pokhari Chhath Ghat of Janakpurdham has been decorated like a bride for the Chhath festival.

Special attention has also been paid for the convenience and safety of the devotees, devotees and devotees who come to celebrate the Chhath festival in the pond.

The Chhath festival, which is celebrated as a symbol of reverence, devotion and the common cultural identity of the entire Terai, is celebrated with fervor and gaiety for four days starting from Kartik Shukla Chaturthi.

Chhath festival is the great festival of the Terai people to increase human interest in truth and non-violence and to encourage sympathy for all living beings. This festival is celebrated by all the castes and communities of the Terai in a common way. This is the only festival in the world in which the setting and rising sun are worshiped.

The arrangement of utensils for this festival starts a month in advance. According to the Mahabharata, when the Pandavas, including Draupadi, were in exile, they worshiped the Sun God to make the secret stay successful.

It is said that at that time the Pandavas lived in the area of King Virat of Mithila. According to folklore, the tradition of celebrating Chhath started from this time ।
