Prime Minister Karki made this call in a message of best wishes on the occasion of Chhath festival, a great festival celebrated with the worship of the Sun today.
“I urge all sides to participate in the upcoming elections as a national ritual and make them successful,” the President said in the message. ’
“It is the responsibility of holding the election to the House of Representatives on March 4 by normalizing the situation created after the Jenji movement and the time has come for all sides to work together to make the election successful by realizing the sensitivity of the situation and their responsibilities,” the message reads.
“Street demonstration alone is not the solution to all problems,” reads the message, adding, “The best method of democracy is to win the hearts of the general public by putting up their stance or dissatisfaction in a peaceful manner and get it approved through the election.”
“Our festivals, including the Chhath festivals, have become the benchmark of social unity, goodwill and brotherhood and in the present situation, we all Nepalis need more unity and goodwill,” he said. The Prime Minister’s message reads, “May the holy faith, the difficult fasting and the energy given by the banks of the rivers and lakes and the festivals there bring harmony and happiness to all.” ’
The festival that promotes truth, non-violence and love for nature has become a bridge between the Tarai and the hills culturally and socially of the Nepalis, reads the message.
