Cement exports worth Rs 795 million to India in 3 months, 61.42 percent increase over last year

Kathmandu. Nepal exported cement and clinker worth Rs 794 million in the first three months of the current fiscal year. According to the Department of Customs, Nepal exported 359,062 tonnes of cement and clinker worth Rs 794 million to India in August, August and September.

According to the Department, the export of cement and clinker from Nepal has increased by 61.42 percent in the same period of the last fiscal year. In the first three months of the last fiscal year, Nepal had exported 241,497 tonnes of cement and clinker to India.

According to the department, 40,298 metric tonnes of clinker worth Rs 151.63 million and 318,763 metric tonnes of Portland cement worth Rs 643.33 million were exported in the first three months of the current fiscal year.

In the same period last year, India exported 223,188 metric tonnes of Portland cement worth Rs 390.5 million and 18,308 kg clinker worth Rs 101.94 million.

The demand for cement produced in Nepal is high in the Indian market due to its high quality. The NEA has cut off electricity from 25 industries including cement for not paying their dues of dedicated feeder and trunk line.

NEA has cut off the power supply to all industries on October 19 and 20. Production of all industries has come to a halt after NEA cut off the power supply.
