Suspension bridge to connect Bukeni and Dhapung villages constructed at a cost of Rs 57 lakh: 200 households benefited

Myagdi. Around 200 families have been benefitted from the construction of a suspension bridge over New Khola of Mangala rural municipality-4. The bridge reduces the travel time of one hour to 30 minutes.

The Mangala rural municipality has constructed a 92.5-metre long suspension bridge over the rivulet linking Bukeni and Dhapung villages. Sabita Roka, chairperson of the users’ committee, said that the construction of the bridge has removed the problem of taking a circuitous route through the rivulets and forests.

“Locals of Dhapung and Mahesh, the one-hour walk to the ward office has been reduced to 30 minutes”, he said. ’

A total of 193 households have been benefited from the bridge constructed at the cost of Rs 5.710 million, according to the users’ committee. Consumers have donated labour worth Rs 64,961.

A total of Rs 31,83,091 has been paid to the consumer committee for the purchase of steel parts at Rs 1,166,424. Former member of the House of Representatives and former state minister Kham Bahadur Garbuja inaugurated the bridge on Monday. Locals celebrated the construction of the suspension bridge by singing and dancing.
